Preparing A Material Take-off
Choose a catalogue profile or enter plate, bar or built-up dimensions. Calculate each item, then add it to the printable material schedule.
Set The Inputs
Confirm section dimensions, member length, quantity and the selected material density. A catalogue mass per metre and a geometry-based estimate are different sources; check which the current item uses.
Plate Example
A plate 1,000 mm long, 200 mm wide and 10 mm thick has a volume of 0.002 m³. At a density of 7,850 kg/m³ its nominal mass is 15.7 kg; four identical plates total 62.8 kg. Match the tool's input units before comparing the result.
Review The Schedule
Check each line's quantity, length and remarks, then confirm the total before printing. Nominal geometry does not automatically include cutting waste, holes, attachments or fabrication tolerances. Add project-specific allowances deliberately rather than assuming they are included.
